Is it worth using Entrecard?

Entrecard has become the fastest growing blog directory on the Internet because of its unleashing feature of exchange of links through 125×125 image. We have been using it on our blog for the period of more than a month. But we have many questions regarding getting and targeted traffic from other blogs/site or vice-versa and a moment came into my mind that is it really worth using Entrecard on my blog?
Do we really get traffic from other sites?
When entrecard was newly launched, we received a fair amount of traffic from it since, many visitors found it something different and clicked on it but now these chances are no more valid. Also, It depends upon your Entrecard promotion image to attract visitors and secondly it depends upon the blog/site on which you are placing your link-widget. There are many factors such as traffic,popularity and performance of that site on network.
Does Credit required to advertise on blog reveals the real image of that site?
In Entrecard campaign, we see that the site with more number of credits required to advertise on widget is termed as popular. But that’s not true, if you don’t believe read post “Misleading credit pricing” by JohnChow. Credit required are totally dependent on number of card-dropping. My blog requires only 15 credits to advertise now while it required 50 credits in last month when my RSS readers and Alexa ranking was not also up to the mark. Hence, credit required doesn’t speak any truth.
Still, why should we place widget on our blog?
With the above misleading and disadvantage, you will think it’s waste of space on blog page to keep Entrecard widget but you should keep it on your blog. The reason behind it is that the above factors which are disadvantageous for someone keeping your widget could be advantageous for your blog. I mean it can still provide fair amount of traffic. It all depends on your promotion/profile image on Entrecard, I’ll cover the topic of Entrecard profile in my next post since its not possible to write all that in one post.
